Asian Dance Research & Practice Association (ADRPA)
Connecting scholars and practitioners to advance dance research, cultural heritage, and intercultural collaboration across Asia.
ADRPA (Asian Dance Research & Practice Association) was co-founded in 2024 by a new generation of Chinese postdoctoral scholars and PhD holders with extensive overseas academic experience. Bringing together expertise in dance studies, cultural communication, and interdisciplinary research, ADRPA has also welcomed scholars and artists from Malaysia, Indonesia, India, South Korea, Thailand, and beyond.Rooted in the core philosophy of “Research, Practice, and Communication,” ADRPA builds an international platform where scholarship meets embodied knowledge. Through academic forums, dance workshops, and cross-border collaborative projects, the Association is shaping a distinctive model that advances Asian dance not only as heritage, but as a living, shared, and globally connected cultural practice.
