Dr. Yang Liu is the Executive President of ADRPA (Asian Dance Research & Practice Association) and a Postdoctoral Researcher in Philosophy at the School of Humanities, Central South University. She also serves as a Senior Visiting Scholar at the Southwest Research Center of the National Research Base for Cultural Industry Innovation and Development, and a Research Fellow at the Inner Mongolia Institute of Ethnic Culture and Arts.

With a dual doctoral background in Dance Studies and Social & Behavioural Sciences, Dr. Liu is committed to advancing cross-cultural and interdisciplinary dance research, with a particular focus on aesthetics and philosophy of the body, intangible cultural heritage (ICH) safeguarding, and the intersection of heritage practice and cultural development. She is an active member of major international academic organizations, including UNESCO-CID (International Dance Council), the Dance Studies Association (DSA), and the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE).

Dr. Liu has published nearly 40 academic articles across scholarly journals and academic media platforms, including works indexed in SCI, SSCI, and AHCI, and has authored three academic monographs, contributing to the global dialogue on Asian dance traditions and embodied cultural knowledge. She has participated in and led multiple provincial and national-level research and education projects, and currently serves as an editorial board member and reviewer for several international journals.

Beyond academia, Dr. Liu brings extensive professional experience in dance creation, performance, and education. Her field-based artistic training spans multiple cultural contexts—ranging from Egyptian Oriental Dance, Indian classical dance in New Delhi, and Lanna traditional dance in Chiang Mai, to Balinese Legong in Bali and Malay Zapin in Melaka—reflecting her long-term engagement with embodied ethnographic practice. Her achievements have been widely recognized by leading Chinese media outlets, demonstrating her influence in cross-cultural dance research and arts education.

楊柳博士現任亞洲舞蹈研究與實踐協會執行主席,並為中南大學人文學院哲學博士後研究人員。同時,她亦擔任國家文化產業創新與發展研究基地西南研究中心高級訪問學者、內蒙古民族文化藝術研究院研究員。

楊柳博士擁有舞蹈研究與社會行為科學雙博士學術背景,長期致力於跨文化舞蹈研究與舞蹈跨學科研究,研究關注點涵蓋藝術哲學與身體哲學、非遺保護與傳承機制及傳統文化的當代轉化與文化發展等方向。她為多個國際學術組織成員,包括聯合國教科文組織國際舞蹈委員會(UNESCO-CID)、美國舞蹈研究協會(DSA)、國際高等戲劇教育協會(ATHE)等。

在學術成果方面,楊柳博士於國內外期刊及學術平台發表論文近40篇,其中多篇收錄於SCI、SSCI與AHCI來源期刊;出版學術專著三部,並主持及參與省部級以上科研與教育項目十餘項。她亦擔任多本學術期刊編委及國際期刊(AHCI/SSCI)審稿人,並多次受邀在印尼、泰國、雅典等國際學術論壇發表主旨演講。

除學術研究外,楊柳博士同時具備深厚的舞蹈創作、表演與教學實踐背景。她長期以跨文化田野與身體實踐深化研究,曾於埃及開羅學習東方舞、印度新德里研習印度舞、泰國清邁學習蘭納傳統舞蹈、印尼巴厘島研習雷貢舞、以及馬來西亞馬六甲學習扎賓舞等,呈現出「以身體為方法」的國際化研究特質。其學術與藝術影響力亦獲多家主流媒體專題報導,展現其在跨文化舞蹈研究與藝術教育領域的持續貢獻。
